New in 2020 for the Hyundai Kona is a brand new trim sure to catch the eye of consumers. It is called the SEL Plus, and it has features such as a power sunroof, a wireless charging pad, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a premium sound system. This trim falls in the middle of the list, above the SE and SEL and below the Limited and Ultimate models.
The top-of-the-line Ultimate trim has adaptive cruise control in 2020. This trim also has a head’s up display rear parking sensors. Still standard on all trim levels are useful safety aids such as automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. Going with the SEL trim or higher adds a blind-spot monitor.
As before, there are two powerful yet efficient engine options for the Kona. For the SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, the engine is a 2.0L inline-four that generates 147-horsepower as well as 132 lb-ft of torque. For the Limited and Ultimate trim level, the engine is a turbocharged 1.6L inline-four. With this underneath the hood, the Kona gets 175-horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Either engine is still paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Going up just one trim level gives the Kona heated front seats and a push-button start.
