2020 Hyundai Palisade vs 2020 Nissan Pathfinder

Serving Memphis, TN

Although it’s a new release from Hyundai, the Palisade has already made quite a name for itself on the market. The 2020 Palisade attracts attention with its commanding exterior, its elegant interior, plenty of space and creature comforts, and a large volume of safety technology. Best of all, the Palisade offers excellent value at every trim level. Even though the Palisade has several standard offerings across the board, you may find that you want to add on more features and amenities. Packages are available at select trim levels to make the Palisade even more desirable. Although it’s a new model, the Palisade takes the #2 spot among midsize SUVs this year. It belongs to a competitive class that includes the 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder, in contrast, ranks #10 among midsize SUVs. It lacks the same interior comfort and space, as you’ll find in the Palisade. It also doesn’t offer the same level of value that you’ll get with the Hyundai Palisade. Overall, the Palisade is the top choice when you compare the two.

Style

With a sharp-looking shell and thoughtful, modern touches, the 2020 Hyundai Palisade is the car for you if you’re looking to turn heads on the road. The 2020 Palisade has a large frame with an equally big personality. From large wheels to chrome-trim accents, the Palisade’s look is best described as powerful yet pleasant. A dramatic front grille is a highlight of the Palisade. Its front end is also adorned with exceptional features, including LED headlights, LED accent lighting, and daytime running lights. Some trims also get welcome lighting on the door handles. LED taillights are optional on select trims, while the top trim gets premium accent lighting in the rear. Heated side mirrors are standard, and you can upgrade to 20-inch alloy wheels. The Pathfinder does not get any aesthetic updates this year, which means its exterior doesn’t have a new appearance unless you add on packages. At most, you can get wheels sized 18 inches.

Performance

The 2020 Palisade gets plenty of power with a 3.8L V6 engine that produces 291 HP and 262 LB-FT of torque. You have the option of either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Nissan Pathfinder gets one standard engine across the board, which is a 3.5L with six cylinders producing up to 284 HP. It tows up to 6,000 pounds. Front-wheel drive is standard.

Interior

Starting with the base trim, you’ll get a pleasing number of standard features with the 2020 Palisade. The base trim, called the SE, is equipped with an eight-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, three USB charging ports, and a push-button start. A leather steering wheel and leather seats are standard on the higher-level trims. The top trim piles on the luxury with a premium Harman Kardon sound system, climate-controlled seats, and a dual sunroof. The 2020 Pathfinder, in contrast, only offers an eight-inch infotainment system through a package. It also gets fewer standard safety aids and less comfortable seats. The Pathfinder has a maximum of two USB ports and less standard technology.
