Just about everything is new for the redesigned Sonata, which is kicking off the seventh generation of this sedan in the United States. The look of this vehicle is updated inside and out. For the outside, the frame is two inches longer, the grille is more aggressive, and the hood is longer. The frame is also lighter. Ultimately, this makes for a more sporty version of the Sonata.
What are the Features of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata?
Inside, the Sonata has several great standard features. These include smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an 8-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. A new 12-speaker BOSE premium sound system is also available for the Sonata.
Starting this year, drivers can opt for a feature that allows them to use their smartphone as their key. Another exciting new tech feature is the remote park-assist feature. Using buttons on the key fob, drivers can direct their Sonata into a parking spot. The feature is even able to make slight tweaks to the steering, helping to take the pressure off.
A new standard engine also debuts in 2020. It is a 2.5L four-cylinder that produces 191-horsepower as well as 181 lb-ft of torque. This is more powerful as well as more fuel-efficient than the previous standard engine. For higher trim levels, the turbo 1.6L four-cylinder engine gets an update. It generates 180-horsepower, which is up a bit from last year. It still makes 195 lb-ft of torque.
Freeing up space inside the cabin is the new push-button shifter. This makes it easier to access the available wireless charging pad. The climate controls have been updated as well, making it more simple than ever to stay comfortable inside the cabin of the Sonata.
