What’s New for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson?
The 2022 model year starts the fourth generation of the Hyundai Tucson. This year, the Tucson ushers in a new generation with many refreshments. With the latest Tucson comes a totally redesigned exterior with a more daring, angular, and innovative look than before. The Tucson matches its modernized exterior with an equally forward-thinking cabin that features a clean and simpler appearance that showcases new technology, including a larger touchscreen interface. With more than 64 shades of interior lighting to choose from, you can set the mood and tone for your drive no matter where you go. A range of powertrain options are included in the 2022 Tucson, with the choice of a hybrid powertrain or a plug-in along with a standard gasoline engine.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson lineup contains eight trim levels. The lineup begins with the SE. A new appearance distinguishes the Tucson at all trim levels with bold creases, square wheel arches, and cascading lights on the front end. You will get an eight-inch touchscreen with audio support and a color display screen at the base level. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and safety comes from Hyundai’s SmartSense Safety package. The SEL gets heated front seats and push-button start. The new hybrid and plug-in models have power-adjustable front seats. They also have their mechanical configuration and standard all-wheel drive. Exclusive 19-inch wheels, leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and custom interior accents come with the N Line. The Limited trim, which is available in a standard, hybrid, and plug-in version, has a panoramic sunroof and a more extensive 10.25-inch infotainment system. More safety technology is added to these three trims, including parking distance indicators, heated seats in both rows, and a heated steering wheel. Remote start is another handy feature.
The gasoline-powered trims of the 2022 Tucson get a four-cylinder engine capable of 190 HP and 185 LB-FT in torque. The hybrid uses the gasoline engine and an electric motor that create 226 HP and about 258 LB-FT of torque. If you get the plug-in hybrid, your Tucson will deliver 260 HP instead. The plug-in model is expected to reach nearly 30 miles of electric range when ultimately charged. All versions of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson have an eight-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai’s innovative all-wheel drive drivetrain is standard on the hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
