2024 Hyundai Kona vs 2023 Hyundai Kona

Serving Memphis, TN

With its spunky performance on the road and bold personality, the Hyundai Kona has been a preferred subcompact crossover since its debut. The Kona introduces exciting updates for the 2024 model year with the launch of its second generation. Before picking out your new crossover at Wolfchase Hyundai, what should you know about the 2023 and 2024 Kona?

Performance

The entry-level powertrain for the 2023 Kona is identical to the engine available for the 2024 model year. This is a 147-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine connected to a CVT. If you choose the N Line or Limited trim level, you can use a 1.6-liter turbo engine. In 2023, the engine pairs with a dual-clutch auto transmission and produces 190 horsepower. In 2024, this changes to an eight-speed auto transmission and 185 horsepower. All trims for 2023 and 2024 except the N are offered with your choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The 2023 Kona N is exclusively available with front-wheel drive and a 276-horsepower engine, and this trim is discontinued for 2024.

Appearance

In 2024, the Kona has a modernized look and grows six inches longer than its predecessor. The 2023 Kona has a standout look with memorably smooth curves across its sides and profile. The front end is individualized by stacked, separated LED lights, an hourglass grille, and thick molding that stretches across the sides and rear bumper. The 2024 Kona’s new look is defined by chiseled, angled accents on the sides and edgier molding over the door panels and fenders. At the front, a narrow band of LED light separates the hood from the grille. The headlights are mounted in a triangular, molded element. This triangular theme continues with the gray caps flanking the grille.

Features

The interior of the 2024 Kona has a completely redesigned dashboard, center console, and steering wheel. It also adds ambient lighting, an upgraded infotainment system, Digital Key 2 Touch, a Bose audio system, a surround-view camera, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. These combine with features that are also offered in the 2023 model year, such as USB ports, lane departure mitigation, an auto-dimming rear mirror, leather upholstery, a Harman Kardon sound system, a digital instrument screen, heated front seats, a sunroof, auto climate control, and several others.
